Bulk import item images

We hope you are all aware of our Import Items option in the Items sub-module, which can help you import item information in bulk using a CSV, XLS, or TSV file. Now, in addition to this option, we have also introduced an Import Items Images option, which can help you upload images of items in bulk.

This option can help you avoid the manual effort of uploading images individually for each item and instead lets you upload them quickly and efficiently in a single go.

AlertYou need to have your images stored in a folder named after the item's SKU and convert the folders into a ZIP file before importing.

Smart billing with custom POS search fields

You can now define the fields used to fetch item and customer details in your POS. You can choose any fields like SKU, Item Name, ISBN, HSN, Number or much more that define your item/customer and arrange them in the hierarchical order you prefer. These fields will be used when searching for an item or customer, either through a scanner or manual search.

Idea
For example, imagine you run a book store that uses Zakya and you want to use ISBN as the primary search or scan field. You can populate the ISBN value for all the books in the store and set the ISBN as the primary search or scan field. When a barcode is scanned or searched, it'll first be looked up in the ISBN field before proceeding to other fields.

In addition, you can now also define and customize which item fields are displayed in the cart using the cart display fields option. Together, these customization options help streamline checkout, speed up billing, and deliver a smoother customer experience.

Support for Income TDS and TCS 

We have now supported Income TDS (tax deducted at source) and TCS (tax collected at source) in Zakya. To access this, navigate to Settings → Direct Taxes.

Create customized registers with register profiles — Beta

You can now fully customize each of your registers to suit different business requirements. This can be done using the Register Profiles option, which allows you to create profiles with dedicated POS and payment preferences and assign them to specific registers. Once mapped, a register can only perform actions permitted by its assigned profile.

Idea
For example, imagine you run a three-story supermarket. The ground floor is dedicated to returns and refunds; the first floor only accepts cash payments, and the second floor supports multiple payment modes including cash, cards, and UPI. Using Register Profiles, you can create three distinct profiles with specific POS and payment preferences for each floor and map them to their respective registers.

This flexibility helps you maintain control while ensuring your registers operate according to your exact business needs.

We currently support this functionality in Windows and Android POS devices, and support for iOS will be provided in the upcoming releases.
